Review: Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Jee

FIRSTLY, FILMMAKERS like Prakash Jha and now Madhur Bhandarkar; renowned reality filmmakers have stepped out of their genres to leave us not baffled but discontented. Here, its disaster befalling the silver screen. Three times National Award winning director and script writer Madhur Bhandarkar’s Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji didn’t reap out well.

Films like Satta, Page 3, Corporate, Traffic Signal, Fashion and Jail serve as epitomes in the industry. DTBHJ has neither a relation nor any approximation to these. Therefore, if you are expecting a typical familiar Bhandarkar stuff then it may turn out disappointing to you. Perhaps, this may become a memento in his own life.

Story and soul become synonymous when it comes to a film. Here you may call it an extract of all the unpalatable romantic films until now; just that they have a sad ending here. In the film you have three couples. Beginning with, Naren Ahuja (Ajay Devgn) and June Pinto ( Shazahn Padamsee) where the former is a 40 year old idealistic man who falls for a 20 year old girl called June.

You can very well figure out their part if you are familiar with Nishabd and Chini Kum. There was a trend on screen where a man falls for a girl who would be half of his age. This would just bring it back in front of you. The difference is just that it turns out to be one-sided love and Naren has to go with zilch. Now let's switch to, Abhay (Emraan Hashmi) who is perfect combination of a crook and a promiscuous man.

He is in a relationship with Anu ( Tisca) who is a rich woman already married to a businessman and quite old for him. She has her unfulfilled desires and to satisfy them she has Abhay who wants nothing but money and a luxurious lifestyle. Similar to what Priyanka Chopra plays in Aitraaz. You do see a slight twist when Abhay actually falls in love with Nikki ( Shruti Haasan) who is Anu’s step daughter.

As said before, sad ending is that Nikki’s character is clever enough; this is where a girl dupes and dumps a person. Thirdly, introducing you to Milind Kelkar (Omi Vaidya); a short, chubby man who follows the traditional methods of wooing a girl, that is, with emotional poetry. Who would never be a delight for a modern, ambitious and not to mention pretty girl like Gungun Sarkar ( Shraddha Das).

Gungun is an RJ by profession. She is not only a clever lady, she also knows all the flimflams to take advantage of people, and this is exactly what she does with Milind who is a decent, simple middle class man. Milind is in love with her and she sees a fool in him.

Knowing his feelings for herself, she makes him work for her whenever required. This may remind you of the film Tashan where Kareena Kapoor's character was more or less the same, where she uses the English teacher ( Saif Ali Khan) for her ambitions. Here you just have a diluted form of the same with a dash of difference. In the end, when Gungun gets a better option she feels apologetic for him.

It becomes even ludicrous when you see three people thronging the same place at the same time, coincidently, twice in the film. Film is supposed to be a comedy, but creation of humour does not lie in obscenity or vulgarity. Hence, it is visible that the film has nothing new to offer, but yes, it does everything to shift the wrong limelight on the women today.

When you are watching three simultaneous love stories going in front of you where women are cheating, dumping and using; you would leave the hall with this thought. The ‘poise’ factor goes for a toss. You see no objective here. One may wonder if that was the objective?

Moreover, in a slow romantic scene you see a sudden zoom in- zoom out. Plus, if you think that it is aesthetic to keep your background absolutely blur while having a conversation in a mid shot then it’s not a smart thing unless and until you are ready to accept a poster texture. You may call it a demand of the scene but anything that looks abrupt on the screen is unacceptable. Rich frames but nothing much appealing.

You get a reason to watch the film if you are a Devgn fan. This goes without saying that the actor has evolved a lot with time. Ajay Devgn does not come much on the screen. May be, this is the reason why his is so much character soaked. There is s difference when you say that I liked Ajay Devgn in the film and when you say you watched Naren. It is about which one actually dominated; that is what decides for a good actor. Emraan Hashmi gets a similar role to render every time.

Talking about music, is there a word beyond ‘hit’? Bhandarkar who is known for his precision in music delivers yet another set of musical treats. The Himachal boy Mohit Chauhan is the heartthrob these days. Chauhan who kick started his career as a singer with Boondei has outshined throughout the way. “Abhi kuch Dino Say” is another hit and this is a positive point in the film. Sonu Nigam is evergreen and “Tere Bin” is another sonorous gem. Music is not meant to be swayed on, but yes, you can always groove your heart. Therefore, you get romantic numbers for the season.

Redundant imagination is also not good. One cannot be master of everything. This does not close the vistas and creations are always welcomed. Analysis is that even romantic comedies are not easy as a task. You need to be precise that your objective is not tarnished. A melancholic sip for Bhandarkar and his admirers.

Let Tees Maar Khan be a wake up call for Farah Khan

TEES MAAR Khan, the much hyped movie of the year 2010 has been slammed as a disaster by the film critics and the audiences also have rejected Farah Khan's much hyped comedy and drama!

The Indian audiences have successfully been able to now recognise the difference between a good movie and a bad movie! Though, earlier movies of Farah somehow managed to woo the audience by its amazing star cast, colourful sets, amazing locations and stunt scenes but her last movie has just been a headache for the audience with Katrina's highly irritating voice and her overacting. With this film, Katrina has proved that an actress cant be just called an "actress" by just flaunting her mid-riff and doing belly moves on a highly popular song, the sensational 'Sheila Ki Jawaani'!

Akshay Kumar just had a bad year with his row of flop movies and TMK was seen as a redeemer for him. But unfortunately, at the end of the year again a shock with a super flop Tees Maar Khan must have left him devastated.

The songs saved the movie somehow, but thats not enough for such a high budget movie where crores were invested on the promos and trailers! The movie lacked a sensible story and the much predictable comedy wasn't successful in even tickling a single bone of the audience!

Yamla Pagla Deewana: Funny family entertainer

After a long time I wanted to watch an entertaining movie in the city, the first movie which came to my mind was ‘Yamala Pagla Deewana’. The main reason for watching this movie was the trio of Dharamendra, Sunny and Bobby Deol. Of course YPD has all the ingredients of creating hysteria amongst the movie buffs. But sometimes when the expectations are sky high even the good looks average.
Yamla Pagla Deewana, the title of the movie comes from a popular song from Dharmendra’s super hit movie Pratiggya (1975). The plot is pretty thin, it is an age old lost and found tale. In Canada Paramvir Singh (Sunny) is living happily with his Canadian wife, two kids and mother (Nafisa). Mother misses Paramvir’s father who went absconding with their younger son Gajodhar (Bobby) to lead a life of crime. Paramvir promises his mother that he will bring his dad and brother from India to Canada.

The first half of the film is slow and there is a very little plot. But as the story builds up in the second half, the fun gets better. The film is filled with several laugh out loud moments. There are some dull moments, but every human emotion is perfectly demonstrated. It has got everything comedy, romance, action and everything else one want to see in a movie. Almost all the characters’ part has been perfectly written out.

The movie clearly belongs to Sunny Deol. He acts well in his own way to add life to his character. He is dashing and dynamic. Sunny’s action sequences were well-paced and action packed. Dharmendra delivers a knock out performance. His comic timing and one liner will be received with whistles from the audience. Bobby’s performance is decent. He tries matching up to his iconic father and brother every time they appear on screen together.

Dharam, Sunny and Bobby get to do everything, comedy, fights, item numbers and a few emotional scenes as well.

Debutante Kulraj Randhawa looks gorgeous but still raw as far as acting is concerned; she needs a refresher course in acting. Anupam Kher does full justice to character. Nafisa Ali is graceful and has been perfectly cast but don’t get much scope. Johny Lever is funny in a brief role. Sucheta Khanna makes a mark with her Canada crazy acts. Mukul Dev in brilliant in a tailor made role.

Director Samir Karnik has handled the Deols pretty well. He successfully manages to extract terrific performances from his lead cast and cleverly assigned each one to do what they are good at. One of the best aspects of the YPD is its casting. All the three actors seem to have been made for their respective role.

Music is average. Despite many music directors composing the tracks for the movie, it is only the title song which is inspired by a song from the film Pratiggya is worth listening. Item song ‘Tinku Jiya’ will definitely appeal to the front benchers. The extended romantic song just stretches the film.

Overall, YPD is not a film meant to be taken seriously. It is a funny film but I was expecting more. The story is predictable, but also seemed a little stretched at time.

IT raids Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra's homes

INCOME TAX officials raided the houses of Bollywood actresses Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra this morning. According to sources, both are being accused of tax evasion and hiding actual income while filing their income tax returns. The managers of both actresses are to be interrogated.

Bollywood celebrity wars go international

BOLLYWOOD CELEBRITY media wars seem to have gone international and viral.

British, Hollywood, Indian and other media reported that Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai (Jodhaa Akbar) has been replaced by young Bollywood star Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) as the face of cosmetics firm  L'Oréal, and now a company statement is circulating around that it was not true.

Both Aishwarya, 37, and Freida, 26, are “spokesmodels” for L'Oréal Paris along with another Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor (Delhi-6), 25, and other international celebrities like Andie Macdowell, Beyonce Knowles, Claudia Schiffer, Jane Fonda, Doutzen Kroes, Eva Longoria, Kerry Washington, Milla Jovovich, Linda Evangelista, Elizabeth Banks, Evangeline Lilly, Diane Kruger, Cheryl Cole, Rachel Weisz, Gerard Butler, Eric Cantona, etc. L'Oréal Paris says that it has chosen spokesmodels that “inspire women and men the world over”.

L'Oréal Paris defines Aishwarya Rai as the "incarnation of Indian beauty"; talks about “Aishwarya's intelligence, exotic beauty, and unmatched talent”; and adds that “Aishwarya Rai lends her smile to the Color Riche Star Secrets range of lipsticks and her immense green eyes to Color Appeal Star Secrets Trios eye shadows”.

It describes Freida Pinto as "most promising rising star", "vivacious and precocious young girl" and "India’s very own million dollar baby". Sonam Kapoor is "fashionista of Bollywood", "style icon" and” known for her eclectic style", according to L'Oréal Paris official website.

L'Oréal Paris is one of the brands of L'Oréal, which claims to be worldwide leader in cosmetics with a century of expertise, whose consolidated sales in 2009 was 17.5 billion Euros, and which believes that “everyone aspires to beauty”. Sir Lindsay Owen-Jones is Board Chairman while Jean-Paul Agon is the Chief Executive Officer of L’Oréal.

Media took the hint from L’Oréal’s ‘Happy New Year’ television commercial which starred Freida along with other international celebrities but not Aishwarya, resulting in some claiming that the replacement was permanent and this marked as end of Aishwarya’s reign and her demise as India’s most successful international film star.

Now a statement from the firm is circulating in the media, which states “…Aishwarya Rai Bachchan continues to be our valued spokesperson, as she has since 2000. She remains an integral part of the L’Oreal Paris world wide Dream Team. She is one of the most iconic women of our time.

Bollywood redefines patriotism with time

FROM THE slogans of ‘Bharat mata ki jai’ in the beginning of Rang de Basanti’s famous dialogue- ‘koi bhi desh perfect nahi hota use perfect banana padta hai,’ Indian patriotic films have taken a different turn. As self-realisation dawned both on audience as well as filmmakers, the trend of glorifying the nation vanished slowly. Violence, emotionally charged actions and crude dialogues gave way to sensitive, relevant stories and smart crisp screenplays.

Says film critic Indu Mirani, “Patriotic films are no longer about ‘chest beating’, or ‘do or die’ kind of attitude. In fact they talk about patriotism in a subtle way.”

The transformation of patriotic films has been quite incredible in both form and content starting with Swades in 2004, which breathed a new lease of life in the catalogue of patriotic films followed by Rang De Basanti, Chak De India, A Wednesday, Black and White and the recently released, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se.

Santosh Desai, author of the weekly column- City City Bang Bang says, “Patriotism is now no longer an abstract or idealistic notion. It is not just about fighting at the border but much more than that. Now exposing corruption also means being patriotic towards the country.”

Noticeably, the patriotic trend in the Bollywood has always been affected by the mood of the nation. Achin Dasgupta, former honorary member of Kolkata Ritvik Cine Society says, “Earlier, independence struggle or the various wars that India fought made the theme for the patriotic films but now there are other issues.”

Post Independence, 1950s saw films like Anand Math (1952), Jaagriti (1954), Hum Hindustani (1960), Leader (1964) and Kranti (1981) and many more which focused on the freedom struggle and martyrs followed by movies like Sikander-E-Azam (1965) and Purab Aur Paschim (1970) etc. that talked about the greatness of India. There were some, which showcased the wars that India fought and won like Haqeeqat (1964), Prem Pujari (1970), Lalkar (1972) and Hindustan Ki Kasam (1973) etc.

In the 1990’s and the beginning of 2000’s, film directors moved beyond Independence and started looking at the humane aspects attached to patriotism. To name a few, films like 1942-A Love Story, Border, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and Pinjar. After this, we finally moved on to more real issues with Mohan Bhargava of Swades questioning the clichéd ‘Mera Bharat Mahan’ and rest in the league follows.

Says Prasoon Joshi who wrote the dialogues of Rang de Basanti, “Patriotic films are here to stay but their definition has changed. Now we are not fighting with the external forces but the enemy within. The need of the hour is to awaken the younger generations and this is what today’s patriotic movies try to do.”

Truly, Indian patriotic films have come a long way. Filmmakers are now trying to woo audiences by propagating films which depict genuine love and respect for one's country be it through sports, love stories etc. The main motive is to make the audience think before they swear against the enemy or take to violence in the name of patriotism.

IN THE history of performing arts, Rihanna has achieved the position of first female solo artist to achieve the top position for the last five consecutive years.

The Official Charts Company has announced her achievement after 'What''s My Name?' also became one of the top solos this year. Thus she has joined the elite group along with Elvis Presley, who had topped continuously from 1957 to 1963. Rihanna's other albums 'Loud', 'Good Girl Gone Bad' and 'Umbrella' had topped the charts.

Robyn Rihanna Fenty (born 1988 in Saint Michael, Barbados), is a Barbadian recording artist and songwriter. She moved to the United States at the age of 16 to pursue a recording career and her debut studio album (2005), Music of the Sun, got into the top ten and 'A Girl Like Me (2006)', one of the top five of the Billboard albums chart. She was also nominated for nine Grammy Awards, winning Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Umbrella."

It's reported that Rihanna has sold more than 15 million albums and 45 million singles worldwide and has received several honours like World Music Awards for World's Best-Selling Pop Female Artist and Female Entertainer of the Year Award, American Music Awards for Favorite Soul Female Artist and Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist. Hrithik, Kat top Times 50 Most Desirable Men and Women poll

THE LIST of the Times 50 Most Desirable Men and Women of 2010 is out. After weeks of voting online, with more than 3.1 lakh votes, the order has been decided.

And the winners (in correct order of ranking) are: the hotly desirable Hrithik Roshan – with his Greek God looks – who sits at the top spot for men; and Katrina Kaif's sway to Sheila that catapulted her to No 1 on the women''s list, for a second consecutive year, which has never happened in the past.

The Men's list has the superb-looking superstar and braveheart of Bollywood, Salman Khan, at No 2 – a stunning climb-up post Dabbang; he's followed by Ranbir Kapoor (last year's winner) at No 3. Shahid Kapoor makes it to No 4 for his sheer boyish appeal and his bare act in Kaminey, while hunky John (the 2008 winner) comes in at 5. Beating out Shah Rukh (6), Akshay Kumar (7), Arjun Rampal (8), Imran Khan (9) and Saif Ali Khan in the Top 10 slots.

For the Women, the eternally lovely Aishwarya Rai Bachchan beats off hot competition to make it to No 2. Priyanka Chopra is at 3 while Deepika and Kareena follow at 4 and 5 respectively. At 6 is the vivacious and hotly desired Genelia D'Souza, followed by the well-styled Sonam Kapoor (7), Bipasha (8), Kangna (9) and the newly crowned Miss Earth Nicole Faria closing out the Top 10 women.

Not too many surprises in the Top 10s, but the 50 sees some surprise entries. While beauty and power polls could remain unchanged for years, the ''Desired'' and the Desirability Quotient (DQ) changes radically. Something like Yana Gupta's ''No Panty'' act. Or Ranveer Singh winning hearts with Band Baja Baraat; Sonakshi's sizzle in Dabangg; Malaika's Munni holding more sway than even bigger stars who may not have done much in the past year to add to their DQ.

Three kings feast celebrated in Goa

THE TRADITIONAL feast of Epiphany popularly known as Three Kings or Magi feast was celebrated on Wednesday at Cansaulim, Chandor in south Goa and Reis Magos in north Goa. The feast of the three kings commemorates a journey undertaken by three wise men nearly 2000 years ago to the town of Bethlehem to pay homage to infant Jesus.

According to biblical accounts, the kings were informed of the birth of the Messiah through dreams. They were guided to the stable where Jesus was born by a star, which appeared in the east. The Magi feast is celebrated on the 6th of January, in the north and south Goa. Three boys re-enact the three kings coming to see Jesus, each bearing a gift. Each king is especially chosen from Quelim, Cansaulim and Arrosim villages.

These boys are given the honour for the day and their reign continues until the following year. The kings are led by shepherds boy beating a kettle drum and a band marching. Each king takes an individual path and climbs up the Remedios hill on horseback and meet for the high mass. The boys are dressed in elaborate clothing, from decorative crowns and gowns fit for royalty. It is one of the most spectacular sights. After the rituals, an extensive fair springs up covering the entire hilltop.

As the members of the Christian community have been celebrating this feast every year, devotees from all over the state relive this journey and attend the feast at the three places in Goa.

After the mass, the three kings leave the chapel by a different route. Biblical accounts have it that the kings were told by an angel to take a different route to their homelands and avoid meeting King Herod who wanted to kill young Jesus. The feast of three kings marks the end of the Christmas season.

Oprah Winfrey launches TV network

OPRAH WINFREY has revealed that she is glad her TV network launched to successful viewing figures in January. The American TV host gave up her hugely successful daytime talk show to look after her new channel, OWN, which was launched on January 1, 2011, after three years of planning.

The network attracted 13 million viewers during its first three days on air.

Winfrey admitted that she's just thankful she wasn't shamed by a lacklustre public response. "I am grateful we weren't embarrassed and that people came (to watch)," the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

"At this point in my life, I am not trying to get everybody. I am only trying to get the people who want to hear... There is a critical mass of people we haven't found them all, who want different programming," she said.

And Winfrey, often considered to be the most powerful woman on TV said, "It was not until we went on air that I fully started to grasp what it means to have a network where you are the ‘OW’ of the OWN."

"How absolutely extraordinary it is that I can sit in this place with my name on a network, coming from a little town in Mississippi...and growing up without a television," she added.

No One Killed Jessica opens with mixed reviews

AFTER FACING a disastrous 2010 in cinema, the year 2011 was ushered in by one of the most awaited movies No One Killed Jessica by Rajkumar Gupta, who had earlier helmed Aamir. The movie No One Killed Jessica has opened up with encouraging feedback from prominent industry watchers, critics and fellow actors.
So, what actually did work out for the movie? Was it the unabashed usage of cuss words by Rani, was it the heart moving story line in which the entire country took inspiration from another cult movie, Rang De Basanti wherein the investigating agencies were forced to put the accused in the dock and
ensure that the Jessica Lal murder case was brought to conclusion. Another attraction of the film could also be the director's take on presenting the story in a documentary style?
Different people have their own takes to testify these questions. Kaveri Bamzai of a prominent magazine says that you know the story of how Jessica Lall was murdered. You also know the guilty will eventually be punished. Yet from the minute the phone rings by Sabrina Lall's bedside, the viewer is in the grip of a high fever. The pace is frenetic, the language forceful, the collapse of witnesses shocking.
On the directors take, trade analyst Taran Adarsh who gave No One Killed Jessica four stars also recommended a standing ovation for the movie apart from saying that most storytellers entertain, a few enlighten. A scattering number of celluloid visionaries entertain as well as enlighten. Rajkumar Gupta fits into that exceptional variety of film-makers that opens up thought-processes about the condition of the homeland without losing the cinematic elements that constitute a film.
Ahead of his next release Dhobi Ghat, actor Aamir Khan who was present at No One Killed Jessica's screening in Mumbai says that with a strong storyline, good direction, exciting promos and a whole of lot of other good aspects of the movie, I hope it will certainly have an impact.

2010 Round-up: Worst celebrity wardrobe snafus

STARS, WHO had the worst wardrobe malfunctions whether on stage or off it, in 2010, have been revealed.

Starting off is actress Katherine Heigl, 32, who while accepting her award for female star of the year almost gave her audience more than they bargained for when one of her shoulder straps popped, Fox News reported.

The actress caught the piece of fabric before it exposed too much, and continued speaking while the host of the night Billy Bush held up her strap for her.

Actress Halle Berry, 44, is next on the list for stepping out in September in a dress that turned out to be see-thru under the flashing bulbs.

Actress Chloe Sevigny, 36, suffered a small mishap when as she stepped up to the mic to accept her Golden Globe for playing a sister-wife on ‘Big Love’, the usher who escorted her accidentally stepped on her long gown and ripped it.

The best one yet is actor John Travolta, 56, who left his house one morning in March with the zipper of his pants down.

ESPN reporter Erin Andrews, 32, fell out of her dress in week two of ‘Dancing with the Stars’. Lucky for her, her dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy noticed what happened and helped cover her up unnoticed until her Barbie dress was fixed.

‘Mean Girls’ star Lindsay Lohan came into notice for her nails, on which she had painted “**** you” prior to her court appearance in July.

Included on the list is Sofia Vergara for flashing her thong, Lady Gaga for her beef attire at MTV VMA’s, Mariah Carey for slipping because of her massive stilettos.

Ryan Phillippe for wearing a thin shirt that made his nipples stand up, and Miley Cyrus for showing too much skin at the MTV European Music Awards in Madrid.

2010 Round-up: Top 10 Bollywood movies of this year

THE YEAR 2010 came with unprecedented shocks and surprises as far as the entertainment sector is concerned. 2010 saw myriad directors trying to claim their share in the Box Office (BO) collections. However, many big banner movies tanked at the B.O while many small budget movies made a considerable impact at the collections. Brainless nutcrackers claimed the major portion of their treats while movies in which countless million rupees were invested failed to recover their money. Given below are the list of Top 10 Bollywood movies:

  1. Dabanng: Dabanng marked the successful debut of director Abhinav Kashyap, producer Arbaaz Khan and Sonakshi Sinha. Despite of having an ensemble cast and a brainless comedy set in rural Uttar Pradesh, Salman Khan was seen playing the role of Robin Hood's desi version, Robin Hood Pandey aka Chulbul Pandey. The movie rocked at the box office and was finally bestowed with the title of highest ever grossing movie in the history of Indian cinema.

  1. Golmaal 3: Director Rohit Shetty along with the enigmatic Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Kareena Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Khemu delivered what is touted as one of the biggest hits of 2010. A sequel to the highly successful Golmaal series which was released in 2008, the movie gave new dimensions to comedy films in India.

  1. Raajneeti: Raajneeti, a true blue political potboiler from the stable of ace director Prakash Jha partially uncovered the complex and unpredictable life of a politician and parties running for power. The film which at many places, carries an uncanny resemblance to the Mahabharata, also at places shares its story line with the Nehru-Gandhi family.

  2. My Name is Khan: The trend was started by Aamir Khan to bring the life of differently abled people on the celluloid with his movie Taare Zameen Par. After a few years, director Karan Johar teamed up with his best friends and actors Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol to showcase howsoever different they may be, humanity forms the root towards peaceful living and existence.

  3. Housefull: Complementing its title, the movie stayed true with its running time as well. With a star cast of highly bankable stars, director Sajid Khan shot the film extensively across Italy and London. The movie is also said to be a remake of a Tamil film, Kaathala Kaathala.

  4. Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai: History repeated itself and Mumbai once again came under the shadow of the dreaded gangster Haji Mastan on 30 July 2010. With their break neck performances of Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim respectively, Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi enchanted the cine goers with their performances.

  5. Peepli Live: It is said that there are countless villages across India who bear the name Peepli. Débutante director Anusha Rizvi put her journalistic skills into a more creative use along with producer Aamir Khan and gave the nation Peepli Live, which took a satirical dig on the farmer suicides and the media covering the entire episode. With a cast of theatre actors, the movie emblazoned its name as one of the most noticeable movies ever made in Bollywood.

  6. I Hate Luv Storys: Producer Karan Johar teamed up with first time director Punit Malhotra for I Hate Luv Storys. The romantic comedy movie saw Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor sharing the space and showcasing their respective perspective on the globally dreaded theme of commitment and love.

  7. Raavan: The movie was surrounded by a lot of hype and expectations as ace director Mani Ratnam teamed up with A.R. Rahman, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan post their last super hit flick, Guru. Although Rahman's music was well received the movie failed to make an impact on the box office despite the presence of Tamil super star Vikram.

     10. Kites: Kites saw the re-union of Hrithik Roshan along with daddy Rakesh Roshan. The movie  which was majorly shot across Sin City Las Vegas and Mexico. The movie also marked the debut of actress Barbara Mori. The movie tanked miserably at the box office.
