SRK and Shahid burn the stage during Star- Screen awards

THE FIRST awards of 2011 were finally on air this Saturday on Star Plus. The dazzling duo SRK - Sasha ( Shah Rukh Khan & Shahid Kapoor) were the main hosts. Though SRK was in his usual comic best, Shahid  Kapoor was trying hard to get attention.

They managed to get Rekha shake a leg on her trademark songs. Keeping in mind their huge fan following, SRK & Shahid are heartthrobs in their own rights which they then utilised to pay tribute to Asha Parekh when Shahid showed off his dance moves in a saree on her " Ajaa Ajaa" song.

With SRK constantly making fun of Shahid, his flops (movies & relationships), they managed to tickle the funny bones of the celebrities present from the B-town.

Anushka and Ranveer co-hosted the event. Ranveer also received "The most promising New Comer Award",which he offered to Anushka ,which she jokingly accepted as she didn't get it for her debut film.

As for other main awards, Dabangg, My Name is Khan and Ishqiya bagged most of them.

While the faces missing were the Bachchan family with an exception to Aishwarya Rai who made a come back to the performing stage after 2007. Also Saif and Kareena gave the screen awards a miss along with Akshay Kumar and many others.

My Name Is Khan and Dabangg dominate Filmfare Awards 2011 nominations

THE BIGGEST and oldest film award function in Bollywood, 56th Filmfare Awards will take place on Saturday, January 29th at the Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. Two young hunks of Hindi film industry Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan will host the award night. The Filmfare Awards are considered as the Oscar Awards of Bollywood.

Two Khans of Bollywood, Shah Rukh and Salman once again dominated the award nomination which was based on the films released in 2010. Shah Rukh Khan starrer "My Name Is Khan" and Salman Khan starrer, Dabangg which was also the highest ever grossing film was nominated under the category of Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor in a Leading Role in the 56th Filmfare Awards.

Golden Globe Awards 2011 announced, here is winners list

THE ANNUAL 68TH Golden Globe Awards were announced on Sunday January 16 in Beverly Hills, California. Ricky Gervais, a British comedian and actor hosted the Golden Globe Awards 2011. The nominations were announced for this award function on December 14, 2010.

"The Social Network," won four Golden Globes awards, including Best Motion Picture - Drama, Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Original Score while "The Fighter" earned two awards, including one for supporting actor Christian Bale.

Oscar winning Indian music director, A.R Rahman missed an opportunity to grab the 2011 Golden Globe Awards. He was nominated for the Best Original Score category for his song in Danny Boyle's film '127 Hours. ' Here is the list of people who left a considerable mark with their performances:

Signature music of Festival of Cellphone Cinema released

THE SOUND and Music department of Marwah Studios comprising of students from Asian School of Media Studies and Asian Academy of Film And Television recorded and released the first version of signature tune for the 4th International Festival of Cellphone Cinema scheduled for 14th and 15th of January 2011 at Noida Film City.

The music has been designed and recorded by students of AAFT and ASMS under the supervision of Rajinder Gandhi, renowned sound recordist and Head of (HOD) the Sound Department at the sound studios of Marwah Studios with the help of Radio Noida 107.4FM.

“I am trying my best to give students more liberty with sound studios and equipments to develop their creativity in the music and digital sound.” informed Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.

“We have the best sound arrangements for music as well as recording backed by our own Radio Station” said Kalyan Sarkar Dean AAFT and Festival Director. Om Gupta appreciated the efforts of sound department and the students. The tune can be listened on Radio Noida in regular intervals said Brahm Prakash the radio head.

Travolta to be honoured with German Golden Camera award

JOHN TRAVOLTA is all set to receive the Golden Camera award for best international actor.

The US actor will collect one of Germany''s top entertainment honours at a ceremony in Berlin on 5 February.

The ‘Pulp Fiction’ star, 56, was praised by German listings magazine Horzu, organisers of the awards, as "one of the greatest actors in the world".  "The way John Travolta chooses his roles and the variety of characters he portrays shows a lot of courage," the BBC quoted Horzu as saying.

"He doesn''t follow the same pattern and always shows us a different face. By doing that he continues to amaze his audience."

"Receiving the Golden Camera best actor international award is a huge honour for me," said Travolta.

"I take great pride in my work and it''s wonderful to have it recognised in such a way. "It''s going to be great to accept this award in person next month," he added.

The award itself is an 18-carat, gold-plated replica of the first electronic TV camera.

AAFT celebrates Rajat Arora's Success at Apsara Awards

THIS IS not the first time that a former student of Asian Academy Of Film And Television has been appreciated at National Level for creativity in the field of films and television, when Rajat Arora got his Apsara Award for Best Screen Play for 'Once upon a time in Mumbai' in an auditorium full of who’s who from Indian film industry in Mumbai during the sixth edition of the award ceremony constituted by Film And Television Producers Guild.

Poster Of 4th International Cellphone Cinema Fest launched

THE EXCITEMENT at the campus of Marwah Studios is getting higher as the poster of the 4th International Festival of Cellphone Cinema was released at a function attended by the management, film, television and media students of Asian Academy of Film And Television, Asian School of Media Studies, Asian School of Graphics and Animation Asian Business School, Asian School of Performing Arts at Noida Film City.

"We are growing with every festival every year, not only the reach of the festival has grown, but the quality of films, participants and events related to this festival has brought us into lime light”, said Sandeep Marwah President of 4th IFCC and Director of AAFT.” We are the first one in this part of the World to project this idea to start Mobile Cinema”. Marwah added while releasing the poster.

“I am excited that we are now ready for the seminar, workshop, screening and great gala party for the 4th International Festival of Cellphone Cinema on 14th and 15th of January”, said Kalyan Sarkar Festival Director of 4th IFCC.

All the members of International Film And Television Club, International Film And Television Research Centre, Mahatma Gandhi Forum, International Public Broadcasting Forum, Shakespeare Society, International Children’s Film Forum, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Forum are invited to this festival informed the organization.
